GameDevelopers.ie formally launched

Gamesdevelopers.ie,
which sets out to provide a communications base for games development
in Ireland, formally launched last night at the Guinness StoreHouse in
Dublin.

The site, which has been online since March, features development
news, an event calendar, forums, a skills directory and jobs section as
well as information on development courses, research, how to setting up
and the industry in general.

With financial help from Nokia and O2 Ireland Dr. Aphra Kerr formed
Gamesdevelopers.ie after research into the games industry at STeM in
DCU. Until now there has being little or no interaction between
companies and people within the Irish games industry.
