NEWS: Double Fine’s Kickstarter Surpasses Expectations

Last night developer Double Fine announced that their next project preliminary titled, Double Fine Adventure would be created with help from fans. It promises to be a return to the adventure game of old that the companies founders Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert are renowned for.

The project was announced on Kickstarter where Double Fine invited gamers to contribute money to the project with the hope of raising $400,000 over 33 days. In a little over 8 hours the project was fully funded.

As of now the project is continuing to gain backers with the sum reached now standing at $697,609 with 17,146 backers. The additional money raised will be “put back into the game” as well as a behind-the-scenes documentary.
