After the superior FPS Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay Vin Diesel’s own Tigon Studios seemed to take a bit of a break before commencing work on the upcoming Riddick sequel as well as the truly impressive looking The Wheelman, an early trailer for which was released this week.

The game really does look fantastic. Diesel looks and sounds amazing and if the video is anything to go by we can expect one hell of an entertaining romp. Shame we have to wati till next year to get our hands on it.

Viewing the final MGS4 trailer you’d be forgiven for thinking that it was a trailer for an upcoming Hollywood blockbuster. From the grizzled voice over to awe-inspiring number of set pieces it could easily pass for the next Jerry Bruckheimer offering, when in fact it’s so much more. The tantalising prospect of a summers day spent playing Metal Gear is something to cherish. Lets just hope that the game lives up to the exceedingly high expectation.

Technically not breaking news or anything, but for those who may have missed it, when it was included as a bonus feature on the rather lack struck Highlander: The Source, here is the trailer for the upcoming Highlander game. The trailer doesn’t give much away but it does look impressive and given the wealth of mythology to draw upon this could be a gem of a game, that is as long as they disregard
Highlander 2 and the Source.

The game promises to delve further into the mythos of the island and offer some answers. So far the game looks quite decent, and will undoubtedly please fans of the show.

The game is scheduled for release in Ireland on the 29th of this month on all the major consoles.

Above is how Toyota created an SUV television advertisement using the World of Warcraft game. That was in the US. In Ireland, only children play computer games.

Or at least that is what you’d think looking some things such as the Irish Film Censor’s ban on Manhunt 2.

With the massive amounts of advertising spend by games firms in Ireland recently ad space sellers here should by now notice the scale of the computer games market.

Of course, it has been growing in the past years, but on going high-profile ad campaigns such as those for PS3, Halo 3, and Fifa 08 should cement the view how widespread computer games now are.

But if we have really moved on might remain a unanswered question for some time. It’s only a year or two ago that one of us at Games Toaster had a phone conversation with a regional newspaper to be told that there is no money in computer games.
